new segmented pieces
Mar 10th, 2013 at 8:37pm

I just recently took classes offered by the local club on segmenting. The first bowl is the one I completed during the class. The second one is an idea that I had that I tried after getting down the basics for segmenting. The first one is bubinga, walnut, maple, and yellowheart. The second one is bubinga with copper beads.

I've seen these pieces and the pictures do not do them justice.  They are absolutely beautiful! Great work Angie! Smiley

Very very good looking bowls there!
I love the copper beads embedded into the ring, and my heart quiver with jealousy over the fact you have local classes where they teach this art.
I knew it in my heart when my half Italian wife dragged me to Italy that this won't be the place to realize my artistic tendencies Smiley

Well, what can I tell you? Life in the wide world goes on much as if it has past age. Full of its own comings and goings, scarcely even aware of the existence of Hobbits...,  ...for which I am very thankful.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Sorry for the picture quality. I tried several others but the files were too big. If you would like clearer pics, I can send them email  or PM  if you like.

Very nice segmented works. Makes me want to go out to the shop right now! Also makes me want to seek out whatever the nearest turning club is.

Keep it up!

Angie I don't want to hijack your thread--John-I found the Hill Country Turners which is closer to me here in Kerrville, but if their meeting doesn't conflict with the Alamo Area turners I might join both! I'll have to check their meeting days.

Thanks for spotting that for me. Smiley
