Ive been turning around a month now and frustrated at only having green wood, decided to try a segmented bowl, i started with 1'' pine and its finished with Mylands friction polish.

Very nice work, especially for pine. The joinery and overall bowl shape are good as well.

Very very nice, thanks for posting more pictures, the seams look perfect, and the shape is very pleasing and flowing.
Now make one with a more interesting wood Wink

Nice work Martin!  As Ed said the joints look good as does the design.  I can see that you found out why Pine is not used much as the hard and soft grain sand at different rates.  Still, I would put that bowl on my table any day!  Can't wait for your next bowl.

You beat me to it Martin.  I have been looking at white pine to make a segmented turning.  It's different and the right shape (as yours) makes it work!

I would not have known this was a first try, you seem like a natural to segmented bowls! Pine has a nice grain used like this. Very nice shape too. Great job, now go make some more!
