Clamping Cauls

Sometimes clamping segments can be difficult to say the least. Clamping a pair of segments can be especially hard if it's too large for a rub joint or the piece tapers too thin at the point. This is an easy to make solution for this issue and can be adapted for any size or angle segment.
As you can see in the pics, pressure is applied at the proper locations, especially the tip which is usually the most difficult and can cause problems. These are especially useful when you're gluing long thin segments found in 12 or 16 segment rings and the best thing is you don't need three hands to do it.  There are countless modifications you can make to these cauls, for instance, line them with tape or cork to protect the glue surface. Make a set for every angle, collect them all.
Hope this helps

No problem Dave, it's just one of those simple things that saves a lot of frustration.

Do you have any templates for the culls?

Thanks

Just what I needed.  Saw a pattern that would make an excellent feature ring .  Wondered how the heck to hold it.  thanks
