On 2/24/2013 I started converting my garage into a wood shop.  Here is the link to my first post.

Here are pix I took today.  I hope to have the bandsaw painted and back together next week.

The tool handles are my first turnings.  I smashed the handles off a 7 piece set of Delta tools and mounted them in the new handles.

Roll Eyesthanks Walt.  I dragged it out of a barn up north.  When it is rebuilt and running I'll have just over 400 bucks in it so that was cheaper than a new 16" saw.

In looking at the photos, I think it would be better is you moved your lathe a foot to the left....

I know John.  I had it there originally, but it cut off to much space coming through the garage door.

It is not a light decision (pun intended) as it weighs 4008lbs!!!

What is not in the pix is the shop press and planer.  The shop press because I am making parts for it so I didn't assemble it. and the planer because I don't have one yet smiley=lolk.gif

Do you have time to ride the cycle?  Finally sold my Harley.  Was putting less than 1000 miles a year on it!  Rode since I was a kid, miss it!

No not much any more.  It needs a bit of repair and TLC, but my focus has been on my shop.  I also miss it, but I don't miss the drivers that don't see me.

Well done Dennis, and if my poor memory recalls didn't you once post a coastal scenic view pic that can be seen from your place?

I wish I had that view.  Live in a lakes area and even though I live in a residential area, I am on top of a hill and in the spring summer and fall, I only see trees.  In the winter I see the tops of other houses.

I should also add that our daughters want us to move to Santa Fe NM from Michigan and if we do that we'll build a house that looks out over the mountains from the shop.

Last night while I was bored watching the blowout super bowl I found a Miller Dialarc 250 TIG welder with a Coolmate 3 torch cooler, all on a miller cart for a fraction of what it's worth.  I ended up dragging it home today.   Thumbs Up
