Thanks everyone.  My mentor was telling me about when he started turning.  It took him a lot longer to get skilled because he did not have resources like this......what a big help everyone has been  Cheers, Dennis.

Glad to learn more about you Dennis, I must admit you are the first turner I have ever known to state that you start sanding at 120 grit with only six months of practice. There is no telling what you will accomplish in the next 6 months. Best of Luck my brother of the gouge. Thumbs Up

Thanks Kathy.  I have a number of big logs I want to turn but am still building my hollowing system and steady rest.  I ordered a 30" flange ring today for my steady rest so things are moving along.
