New gallery & opportunities for my work.
Sep 19th, 2013 at 12:57pm

The Lord is blessing I got my work into a second Gallery down here and this one is more of a high end gallery and I am happy with that. I also have a large exhibit of my work at the local university Library in their glass cases on two different floors. The University only want a 20% donation on all that sells. Also I was just contacted by a lady who has a shop on the Jersey shore who is looking for hand made bowls to sell that are crafted in the US. She saw my work on a facebook page where I post most of my work. Might be something that will prosper I will have to wait and see. I am incouraged.

Did you ask if your bowls would be covered by her hurricane insurance?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Jim asked.
Did you ask if your bowls would be covered by her hurricane insurance?

Jim I also sell stormbraces that I invented so maybe I can sell her a few braces in case of hurricanes.(chuckle) Grin
I will ask about that if it works out that I get quite a few pieces in her shop.

Breck, that is great news.  Hopefully the galleries don't take too big of a chunk out of the sale of your items.  I know facebook can be a real asset to exposing the public to your work.  As of yet, I have not gotten into using facbook.  I guess I'm using the excuse that it's too much time.

Tom--yes being retired does allow you to spend more time turning.  I'm sure Breck will agree, I highly recommend retirement.  Of course, you need to be well prepared to be able to survive.  Just remember, that don't call it the golden years for nothing--it takes gold to live them.

Amen steve! Retirement is wonderful but unless you have the finances it can be a struggle by times. I had everything I knew about planned before I retired, but then the unknown and unplanned stuff happened. Challenge time again. Thumbs Up
