help with duck call finish (Read 2,040 times)

Posts: 10 Grand Island Nebraska USA Gender:	help with duck call finish Oct 15^th, 2013 at 11:07am Hi Guys, I am new to all this, but enjoy makeing duck calls for my friends. I don't know how to finish them, so they are water proof on the inside, but look good on the out side, don't know if I need to dip in hot wax. then ployish out side or if there is a better way. Thanks for any help. Jim

I use brush on poly inside my calls. I tie a string to a rag and dip it into the poly then pull it through like cleaning a shotgun. Then I hang the call up vertically so the poly doesn't pool on one side. Finish the inside of the barrel before you do the stopper so you don't have an issue with the poly changing the inside diameter of the barrel.
