There was a previous discussion about the speed pages were loading.  We were having problems with our TV via the cable and internet speed, and when the tech checked, he found a partially defective splitter (probably surge damage).  He replaced their splitter in the interface box.  He then checked each coax, 2 TV, & 1 Data.  He found that there was a very low Signal to Noise Ratio (24) on the Modem line.  He proceeded to check the line in the office and found that the line was good, but the problem was in the modem (possibly related to surge).  It was faster after he replaced the splitter, but not great.  I replaced the modem with a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem, and download speeds are greatly improved.

Speed is one thing, but when I try to access the site from work, I am told I am using a proxy server and it does not let me view the web site. I used to be able to surf the site without issues, not so much any more....Sad

WR has been having major problems with hackers and spammers using proxies so I decided to ban proxies. When I encounter an error message from a member with problems getting in I clear the way for them.

Banning proxies is not a perfect solution, but its working. So until I can come up with a better way its going to stay in place.

In the meanwhile, I cleared the path for the two of you.

[Footnote: I do have two ideas I'm working on but I need to test them out before I set it loose on the forum]

In my case, I don't think it's the proxy problem.  The company has always blocked non-company email accounts.  Now they block social media, and I think forums.  They say it is due to fear of system corruption and data security.  Might be as much to prevent us from using company time on personal stuff.

Nope, never got that message.  Just the word, "Blocked"

Oh, and they also block shopping sites, Amazon, eBay...  But not pizza sites where you can order your lunch.

Most likely an error generated from your company's server.
