Kids toys - need ideas
Nov 12th, 2013 at 12:33pm

Looking for ideas on kid toys.   Spin tops (hand or string) are on my list but what else?

Did a search here and nothing really came up.

Thanks
Peter

Lee Valley Tools has quite a few plans for toys. Even if you didn't use their plans, you may get some ideas.

Thanks all,  I am checking out those suggestions.

Jim, not just turning.  I do a ton of flat work as well.

My target age is from 3 to 9 - boys/girls..

Magic wands (Harry Potter) and these are wide open to embelishments and different shapes.

Wide range of tops -- there is a Brit pub in the pile with a wide range of tops, some with moving pieces.

Whistles and similar -- some can be revenge items to give to grandchildren (to help parents remember when they were using such things).

Small treasure boxes are great for all kids -- especially can be treasured by the young ladies.

Raffan has a new book on toys just released with a DVD coming in April.

When my daughters were young I made beds for their favorite dolls. The posts were turned the rest was flat work with a bit of sewing too.

A tidy bench is the sign of a sick mind.

Bowl gouges are like potato chips......you can't have just one.
