Upgraded Shop
Jan 21st, 2014 at 5:58pm

I have remodeled my shop to add space.  I started in an uninsulated one-car garage w/out heat or air (12' x 20' space).  My wife and I decided to give me more and better space before I retire in a couple of years so I have a place I can really work with.  I now have a 12' x 36' area to work in and, even, sort, organize, and store my wood.  I, also, have dedicated areas for sawing, sanding, turning, prep and assembly, etc.  We have added a 'motel type' heating A/C unit which has been handling below 0 weather quite nicely.  I am hoping to do a lot more woodworking now!  Here are some pix.

OK - It is getting full of sawdust and shavings.  I took the pix right after the construction was done.  I just finished a class on "Bowl Turning" and I can see that bowls produce a lot more sawdust than pens!  Thanks to whoever took my other 2 pix and put them where they belonged!  This is going to be a fun group and I'm looking forward to participating! Love your shop or man cave as some of us call it. It is so clean and I know why, I cleaned mine up for almost a week before sending in some pic's and that was the only time it has ever been clean since. woo woo   make curlies

Somebody told me that they put a car in their garage ... What a quaint thought!  Actually this garage hasn't housed a car in 17 years.  It has always been a small workshop/storage area.  It is now a decent sized workshop and I love it!
