I was comforted by the "final design" picture at 5:35 of the video. Wink Denny is a pro at these things and if he didn't know what his final piece was going to look like, I don't feel so bad about my inability to see the end result of mine when I set out.

Thanks much for taking the considerable time you must put into these videos and your explanations, Denny. They've helped me a lot in my meager efforts.

I'm sure there are software programs that you could use to reveal the spiral effect. After you complete a few, you do get an "eye" for the finished product. Also the degree of rotation of each ring will change the entire look.
