Hi, Chuck:
The tripod mounting socket on most cameras is threaded to 1/4" x 20 tpi so you should be able to cobble something together from common parts.  I made a box with a glass door for my camera to go inside to protect it from dust.

With the Gopro I have a few dozen different mounts and adapters some bought some home made. With the other cameras mostly just the tripod.

I just made this up for the Gopro

Anthony
can you please e-mail me pics of the different mounts you use i especially like this one here. can you give me links to where you got the parts from please

Bob,
I have short ceilings height. & 4' fluorescent lights right above the lathe. that hangs down I don't have a extra tv that i can hook up to it so i can see what i am aiming the camera at. I would have to be able to actually aim it with my eye so i can take the vid

Chuck, most of my mounts are specific to the GoPro and most likely won't work for you. The goose neck above was based on this vid, I had an old work lamp I took the goose neck from.. Other than that a few bits of metal and a few bits of wood should get you a custom mount.

I made a few videos using GoPro also.  You can get the mounts at sporting goods and electronic stores.  I discovered I didn't care for the editing part.  Very time consuming, repetitive and kind of boring.   My hats off to those who can accomplish this.  Strangely I still want to make more though.

It's a system including camera, housing and various mounts. I'm constantly thinking, "where can I mount the GoPro next"!!
