I agree.  I was using ProPay, but their annual fees are high.  I started looking at the competition and found that the 2.75% flat rate with no annual fee was the best route.  Sign up on line and they will send you a free reader.  Just make sure that your phone or tablet is on the list of compatible devices.  If you don't have time to wait, you can pick one up at Staples of $10 and Square will refund $10 with your first transaction, you end up just paying the sales tax.  You indicate getting it at Staples when you sign up.  Once you start using it, order a spare reader, also free.  You never know when you will misplace it.  BTDT

Also note that most states do not allow sellers to add fees to credit card users to cover additional cost, or discount for cash transactions.  Some do not even allow a minimum amount for card usage.

On top of what Jim says, if you get an invite from a Squareup user you can get free processing on the first $1000 of sales

So if invited, Square waives the 2.75% flat rate on the first $1000 of sales?

+++ on the Square, it works and no hassles even with small $$ purchase.  I found that the small dollar items brought in more customers, more customers means more income.

+ + + + what's been said about Squareup.   I got it last year and my sales went up from the previous year at the same events.

Yep….can't be beat. Someone…and I can't remember who, even makes an iPhone case that the square reader fits into the back of for storage.
