I know this has been beat to death but I have pics I am trying to post and even though every resize program I own and have used says these pics are under 75KB in size every time I try to upload them here is says the file is too big by 100 KB or more.

Example is one pic I am trying to post says it is 71 KB but when I try to upload it here it says it is about 179KB.  What gives?

What says its 71KB?
If it was indeed that size you would be able to upload it to our server.

I am using a MAC and the resizing tool in the Preview says it was 71KB after the alterations were done and after saving it.  I sent it to Jim Quarles, he said IE said it was 200+, not sure why that is happening.

Is it possible the resizing tool is saving a copy of the original to a different location and you are trying to send the original, unaltered version?

I thought of that, only thing is with preview if you save it it does not have a pop up menu or window to change the name or location or anything like that, there is also no save as option.

Phillip, use your "finder" icon to locate the file.  It will show you the actual size of the jpg file you are trying to send.  I have the MacBook Pro and use iPhoto to resize my pictures.  When you identify the picture you want to send, use the "export" feature under the "file" bar at the top. Select jpg quality of medium and file size of medium and you should get a picture size that can be downloaded to WR.  PM me if you need additional help.

Thanks Steve, I shall give that a try.  Instead of using the finder function can I just start Iphoto and do the same thing?

Yes, once I download my pictures to iPhoto, I just save them to my desktop and then load them form there when posting.
