I have a Thein Tophat separator.I am having to replace a piece of it and am using a piece of 3/4" osb....just a small 6" by 6" piece.I have read that it can be coated with something so it doesnt soak up so much paint. Anybody know what this might be?

Several coats of sealer.  And it may soak up a lot.
