Rose in a basket knocked over
Feb 1st, 2016 at 10:30am

This is my version of a rose in a basket knocked over. The basket was made from oak that I turned, then carved to make it look just like a true woven basket. The rose was first turned in three separate pieces (not great drawings but you get the idea) each able to nestle into the other. Then I carve each separate piece with the petals etc. and finally glue all three pieces together to form the whole rose. For the base I turned a bowl shape and put a ton of glue on it and sprinkled sawdust on top. It came out looking  just like a pile of dirt.
