Combination Full Faceshield and Respirator

Are there other products similar to the Airshield Pro that includes a full faceshield and filtered positive pressure air, suitable for bearded wood turners who cannot get a good seal with a standard rubber half facepiece respirator?

I use the 3M AS400 PAPR, full face shield, certified hard hat, with filtered positive air pressure in the face shield. When I had a full beard (6 months) it worked great. Pricey unit but it works and I believe you get what you pay for in premier safety equipment. After all it is your own lungs being protected.

Though very pricey, the Airshield Pro will work with a beard as it uses a type of 'curtain', for lack of a better word, to wrap around the face.  Found one used for about half the price of new...good luck.

I use a system by North

air-filter / battery unit on a belt

and I have a beard (but not a ZZ-Top long beard).

These items have industrial quality and industrial price as well. The trick is to buy a second-hand unit with worn-out batteries (which cost an arm and a leg) then create an adapter for normal Li-MH batteries on that belt. That gives good protection for a more reasonable price.

It wears quite comfortable, not too much noise, not too much draft but enough that some coughing doesn't steam up the face shield.

I may add that all sets where you wear the filter on a belt on your back, are not suitable to people who like to eat beans, onions and other flatulence-inducing food. DAMHIKT.
