salad bowl finish top coat?

  Being a newbie, I just picked upa a can of General Finishes Salad Bowl Finish.  Just curious, would you suggest a topcoat for this finish?  Maybe a thinned shellac or poly?  Maybe just a wax on top?  Help a newbie out.  All ideas are appreciated!  Thnaks!

You don't need any additional coat on it, this finish is considered a top coat on it own.
