Milky white penetrating sealer/stabilizer
Apr 5th, 2016 at 1:04pm

the description states: "water based, very low viscosity liquid that is formulated to deeply penetrate the wood surface/fibers and it's environmentally friendly, dries in minutes."

I bought a gallon of this stuff, and asked for the MSDS to come with it.  It was not included, and no labels on the jug.  So I emailed the owner asking for it again...no response.

So, I'm asking you guys if you have heard of a mixture that does this.  I'm sure it's something relatively cheap and probably mixed with some kind of agent to speed the drying time.

Thanks for your time  Smiley

Sounds like end grain sealer, an emulsified paraffin meant to stay fairly liquid and applied with a brush.  Or is it some kind of finish?  Not enough information

Thais what it sounds like
Brand name or place of purchase would help identify it.

This stuff is called Shaft Dip from a company called Cue Components.  It's skim milk white and about the same viscosity...almost a water thickness.  And it is water based.  You dip a dowel in a container, wait a minute, pull it out and hang to dry (about 5 minutes).

I was thinking it might be Anchorseal 2, but I don't know the consistency of Anchorseal 2.  If it's thick, then this Shaft Dip stuff is cut down with something to make it thinner and dry in less than 5 minutes

I would try to contact them again and find out what in it.
Personally I like to know what type of product I'm using, more than just water-based.

Without an MSDS I would insist on full refund and return.

I've contacted them again...I very seriously doubt the owner will be any help.

Think I should contact OSHA and see if there is anything they can do to help?

I'm with Don, I don't believe it's legal to sell this type of product without an MSDS. They make a lot of claims about this product as if it's the best thing since sliced bread. I'm guessing whoever developed it is somehow trying to protect his/her formula.
(it may be snake oil)
