Drying with DNA...
Apr 6th, 2016 at 12:08pm

Due to a short turnaround requirement from a customer I've dried several pieces in a DNA bath as opposed to paper bag-wait several months before twice turning.  While I suspect the obvious answer is a 'yes', can one have a roughed blank in the bath too long?  THANKS...John

I have kept a few rough turned bowls in DNA for too long and did not notice anything adverse.  All it really does is waste time.

If it is a once turned bowl, the DNA does nothing, and a 3/8 inch bowl is dry in about 7 to 14 days max. Since I can't remember ever doing a twice turned bowl, I have no idea how it works on them. A lot of turners use it. For quick, the microwave is fastest.
