Latest segmented turning project
May 20th, 2016 at 10:26am

Here is a photo of a vase that I started turning the other day. The joints came out perfect; straight off the wedgie sled. I only did a little sanding to get rid of the fuzzies at the edges. I am turning this vase in two sections because I do not have any hollowing tools. Once I get the interior of the top half turned I'll glue the two halves together.  The maple board I used has quite a bit of figure.  This should looks really nice once finished.  Any suggestions on how finish this piece to make the figure stand out?

Why can't this website accept larger resolution images?
Is this a matter of updating some software?

It probably has to do with how much space large pictures take up and not wanting to spend more money on storage for the forum servers.

Ron can address this much better than I can but don't forget that not everyone has a DSL or cable (fast) connection. Most of the photos I take are usually 5 -8 mb, I don't think you would be happy waiting for them to load.
The rules of this forum have to try and serve everyone equally.

This topic has been addressed many many times. The problem is the connection between the user's keyboard and the user's chair. Do some research on this forum to find your answer.

2 months ago I created a sticky that appears on every board on how to properly reduce an image that is properly scaled. Find the sticky, read it, follow the instructions then upload a proper image.

Ron,
I read the posting (some time ago) on how to resize images and I resize every image I post because of the 75kg limit.  No problem between my keyboard and the chair. That connection is still good. Smiley     Other woodworking sites allow for much higher resolution images without having to go through extra steps.  I was just asking why there is such a small limit.
