I am looking for 50 pieces of mahogany approx. 2"x4"x24".. Obviously it can be larger sizes that can be cut down. I am in Massachusetts. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would start looking for local lumber dealers that specialize in hard woods, not the big box stores.  I'm sure there are online sources but shipping would likely nearly double your cost

If you find costs are prohibitive, you may try Sapele or one of the other mahonagy-esque woods.  Similar working characteristics and color but cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

My understanding is that south American mahogany is no longer exported as lumber.  If sapele won't work, you might try placing an ad on Craig's List and with local woodworking groups - someone may have some in inventory they're no longer likely to use and would sell.

Where in Massachusetts?

Berkshire Products Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register in Sheffield (just south of Great Barrington) is a great source for timber - both for flat work and for turning.
