Hello from North Carolina
Aug 23rd, 2016 at 7:48am

Hi, my name is Tim Hoyt. I recently retired and relocated to NC. I have turned bowls on a homemade lathe for 20+ years. I am self taught. What that really means is I do a lot of things the hard way or sometimes the dangerous way. I am trying to relearn some of my bad habits via you-tube. It's going to be an interesting process to say the least! I just bought a 10' Vega copy lathe, so I will also be learning between the centers turning. This site looks to be a wealth of information that I am slowly soaking up.

Well if you want to learn bad habits, that's the place to do it  Roll Eyes
All kidding aside, welcome to the forum, make yourself at home.
If you do have any questions or concerns about a video or something, feel free to ask.

I'll try to find out about the additional letters in your last name.

Timothy, you can change your name back to Hoyt (if you want to) by clicking on the tab titled "User CP" then "profile", then "edit profile".
It's pretty straight forward, let us know if you have trouble.
