11" Bowl new segment(er)
Sep 1st, 2016 at 12:16pm

Cherry with burl maple. Very fun. I was worried about my overlapping of the segments but I am pretty happy and there are zero gaps. Planning another soon... LARGER!

I had a BEAR of a time parting the glueblock. Ended up using a saw an cleaning up the bottom on Cole jaws.

Thanks! 11 inches. I wanted to warm up with this size and less segments. Hoping to make a more complicated 15 inch soon.

Nice looking bowl  The sides are a little flat for me, but I do like the burl in it!

Hey Walt,

Thank you. I think the sides are flat also. I should have mentioned I miscalculated my segments for size but also waste compensation. I had a limited path and was down to a 1/4" thickness. I'm just happy I controlled the medium. My first segment so I hope to get better. I have some ideas I hope to implement from my woodworking background. Always a journey. Wink

BTW I have watched your videos. Awesome work. Very impressive.

Best,
Ken

Try using a paper joint at the waste block, a sharp knife and a wrap with a hammer and it is off
