Hello From Ireland
Nov 1st, 2016 at 6:16pm

Just popping in here to say hello form Ireland. I'm from Mayo on the west coast of Ireland, about 3 miles from Knock Airport and 14 miles from Knock Shrine. Been away from woodturning for a few years through illness but am slowly getting back to my workshop and turning.

Enjoy the site Michael, I'm curious if you'd being showing us some of your local wood varieties in your items?

Thanks Buck. I've a bit of work to do yet on my workshop before I get back up and running. I've just replaced and finished a new roof on it. Yes, I hope to get my hands on some local wood. We've mostly Ash and Sycamore around these parts, maybe some Apple. Will definitely post some photos when I get turning.

We took a tour of the British Isles. It began in London and then we headed north into Edinburgh and Glasgow and then over to Northern Ireland, south into (Dublin among other places) Ireland, then on to Wales and back to England again.

We had the time of our lives over there!  Smiley

Great stuff. I love Edinburgh myself, very friendly people! I'm located 2 1/2 hour drive west of Dublin.
Here's one of my views today, my local GAA club with Croagh Patrick in the background,

Thank you Tony. Taking me a while to get the hang of this forum, slightly different to other forums I post on.

Greetings Michael

It has been awhile since I have been to the Emerald Isle way back in 84 and then in 88 and 91.  I have been to County Mayo and watched a Gentleman doing wood turning at a fair and really enjoyed it a lot.

I really look forward to seeing what you make

Cheers
