An urn for my friend Joyce
Feb 26th, 2017 at 10:23am

This urn is a little over 300 cubic inches in volume. There are 18 staves with a total of 75 segments. Starting from the top it is purple heart for the lid, spalted walnut sap wood then hard maple, purple heart’ hard maple and a purple heart base. It is about 9.5 inches in diameter and 11 inches high. The finish is 3 coats of catalyzed medium luster lacquer. Then buffed and waxed.
