Hello to all!
I used to turn on my fathers old Shopsmith in high school. I used to make nutcracker soldiers for Christmas presents. Just about lost several fingers cutting the mortise for the jaw! That was 45 years ago. I went on to a career in cabinet making, although I am semi-retired now. Last year at an estate sale I picked up a 6 piece Sorby wood turning chisel set with three Easy Tool carbide tools. $40!!! They did not accept my $300 bid for the Nova DVR lathe. (That is all I had) Cry
I have been looking for a lathe on craigslist for a while. This week I picked up a Delta 46-204 gap bed lathe with 3/4 HP motor and full chip shields for $200. I am obviously a newbie, so expect to be pestered with questions.
Now I am going to jump to the tool category to talk abouta new motor.

Loren, if you're not asking questions, you're not learning.  Oh yeah, Welcome to the club.
