A big clamp

There was talk about hydraulic presses a while back. I have thought about it for years but just did this the other day. Worked beautifully. I have used the drill press to press car parts a few times where it really didn't have the guts, but for glue clamping it's fine. The head's fixed and the table forces up or the other way around, of course.

FWIW, clamping between the head and tail on a lathe is also effective. Both the drill press and the lathe screws are designed for this force.
