Mar 29th, 2017 at 3:45pm

Hi all, I have started to turn a projects that I need larger than what I am finding the 1.5" x 1.5" acrylic blocks.

Looking for anything in the 2" range or bigger?

Any suggestions?

How long do you need?

Ed Davidson, aka YoYo-Spin the yoyo maker says to use cast acrylics on wood lathes.   Something about the extruded version melting easily.

Plastic firms sell cast rod up to 6 inch diameter (clear rod).

There are also acrylic wood hybrid combinations.  Big Monk Lumber (bigmonklumber.com) and others sell hybrid blanks, but they are expensive.
