first segmented goblet
May 7th, 2017 at 4:09pm
 
9" tall. Stem is Walnut surrounded by Cherry and Maple. Cup is Chechen. Finish is Shellawax cream.
Glue up is tricky. All the center pieces have to be exactly the same size so it turns out symmetrical.

Allan, I like the piece but if I had to critique it, I would like to see some curvature in the bowl section of the goblet.

I have been influenced by the shape of pewter Jefferson Cups, and prefer that shape.   There are others "schools of shape" that use straight sides.

You precision is most excellent!!  Eli Avisera quality work.   Well done.

nice. you should really post your finished work in the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register. photos posted in the forum are auto deleted after 24 months where as photos in the gallery remain for near forever.
