Lathe adapter

I have a Laguna lathe with an 1 1/4" shaft and would like to reduce that to a 1" to use my 1" chucks. Does anyone make such an adapter?

They are called spindle adapters.  They are available with a range of prices that appears to generally track the precision.  You tend to pay more for less runout.

One source I have used is bestwoodtools.com

Amazon has these as do several other vendors such a Craft Supply USA.

Some of the really cheap ones have a lot of runout.  Kind of like drill chucks some are 25 thousands run out, some are 10 thousands and some are less than 1 thousand.

Depends on what you need for what you wish to achieve.

I have one of the bestwoodstools adaptors.  It is a finely made piece of equipment.

Do your chucks have a manufacturer's nsert to adopt the chuck's native threads to a 1" spindle thread?
