QOTW: What’s your family like? Are they supportive to your creative side or do they roll their eyes when you show them a new piece?

My wife is very supportive.  She does not like me to sell or give any of my bowls away.

Well... one of my cats couldn't care less but the other one will sit in a window and, having seen me go into the shop, will make all kinds of cat noises till i come back out of the shop door.

Other than that, everyone else is dead so they don't seem to mind at all. Shocked Thumbs Up

I receive support and artistic critiques on my work. It has helped me grow as an artist and shows through my work. I am very thankful.

My bride come up with the brilliant idea of me gettin' into woodworking 25 years ago as a stress reliever while I was home off the road. At the time, I was trucking over the road, & gone 6 - 8 wks at a time. So, being the obedient husband I am, I went to the library every time I was home, checked out a few books on different tools, wood, finishing, etc., took them on the truck wBrad Barnhart to read. In the meantime, she was in the market for used woodworking tools. Finally, we started buying a few things, & I began makin' customized firewood. She has been very supportive of my creative abilities as they've improved. She puts in her order for somethin' she wants made now that I'm a full time woodworker. She tells her friends about my scroll work, & limited lathe abilities. Even shows pictures. My Mom has even started showing her friends my work, & sendin' her chatty friends pictures on her phone. So yea, I would have to say my family is supportive.
