A quick post regarding the class at Marc Adams. Seri is everything you might expect and more!
Her fungi which can be purchased from Northern spalting.com can Spalt wood sometimes in less than a month -and you end up with solid (not punky) wood.
Others have referenced her 8 part video with Mark Lindquist on YouTube. I'm not totally finished viewing but will tell you it is very engaging and full of information.
One day left in the class and we have all learned SO MUCH. As Robo-hippy says, everything I thought I knew about spalting was wrong.

During the 8 part series i learned there no set rules to turn a bowl.  Like Mark said  turn what makes you happy.   Seri even said when she turns a spalted bowl  if she sees the spalting being turned away she will stop turning, even if it means she cannot sand because the spalting is disappearing.  So  wall thickness is not as important as other aspects of your own personal preference.

How did your spalting attempts go?  Were you able to get color?  How long did it take?
