Excelsior mini lathe and laguna 1836
New Turner in Central WI

Hey y'all, glad to have found a new source for turning info! I actually started in December on an excelsior mini lathe but I am just now waiting on arrival off my new laguna revo 1836 220v 2hp. I actually have my first question: anyone know a turner in the Chippewa valley or nearby that would give private lessons? I feel I've done pretty well watching lots of YouTube, but nothing can beat a 1:1 lesson for me. I've gone to the local guild on open house days, but it's not a great replacement for a real lesson. Thanks! Thumbs Up

Welcome from East Troy.

I know there is an active club in the Chippewa valley.  I suggest that you contact the president and see if they have a mentoring program. If there is one, you will likely need to join the club to take part in it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tony. Funny enough, I hadn't thought of a mentoring program through the club.
