17" tall. Curly maple and some wood I don't know. The fellow I got it from said it was tiger. I have enclosed a picture of a piece If you know what it is let me know

Goncalo Alves, also known as Tiger wood is a Central American wood.
It had gained popularity in recent years for use as decking, due to it's resistance to rot or decay.

Beautiful work.  With south American woods, watch your allergies. Several are related to Poison Ivy.
