Simulated Natural Material Rods

I don't do simulated. Roll Eyes Grin

Of course, Simulated Natural Material Turners Resource does have a certain ring to it.

In all seriousness, there are many people here that turn acrylic, polyester and other "plastic" type materials. They have their place, just not my cup of tea.

I have not turned that specific product but I have turned a fair amount of "plastic" type material.

I enjoy working with it. It can be taken to a high gloss finish and brought back to a high gloss after it get worn dull. For instance the key rings I make from $2 acrylic pieces that used to be in a huge bin at Woodcraft near me. They get dulled up in pockets, purses and so on. A minute or two at the buffing wheel and they are like new.

I have a couple of  the big pieces I bought on sale at Woodcraft quite some time ago. Still do not know what to make with them.

Give the stuff a try, you might like working with it. It turns really smooth with sharp tools.

Snooker chalk holders. My plan is to make something like this as Christmas gifts for my snooker pals.
