Found a lot of prior comments regarding eucalyptus by searching the forum from the beginning of time.  You might send a private message to some of those who were turning it.

Hello Steve, I live in Aus and my dad was a sawyer. We have over six hundred eucalypts. I think yours is probably a very young member of the stringy bark family. Probably red stringybark. They make beaut fence posts. They will crack severely when drying Quite heavy timber with not a lot of colour but quite easy to turn compared to say blue gum. Makes beautiful flooring. Here is a site which may help with identification.
