Here's a couple of shots of what I've been up to:

This is a Birch root burl I got a couple of years ago and we finally cut it into manageable pieces and I threw one of them onto the lathe over the weekend.

Ralph that sure pretty what size is the project? as far as the photo it depends on the system your using to resize your photos, some let you pick file size then the photos dims.

When people talk about picture size there are two different things being discussed which confuse people.
The file size limit is 200kb the physical size (the resolution like 800x600) are two completely different things.
You want to lower the mb size and keep the viewable size.
Ralph, try a freeware program like Pixresizer
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
There are many places to download this program, find whatever site you're comfortable with.
The pumpkin photo I posted earlier started out at 10mb, with a couple of clicks the posted file size is in the 25kb range but still at a large enough viewing size.

Bruce... it is about 7" diameter and about 6" deep. 1/4" to 3/8" thick walls and closer to 1/2" bottom area.

It needed alot of sanding to clear out the tears in the grain from the soft areas but a few drops of CA glue and then an overall coating of shellac/oil/ wax to harden the grain and it did sand up real nice.

I only need to jam chuck it and finish off the tenon.

Ed..
Pixresier is windows only.

I used to use photobucket  but not once they started charging.

Ralph, very nice piece of wood and a beautiful bowl.  The spalting in this piece is amazing.  It also creates a challenge for getting a smooth finish.  I use the same process as you.

Thanks for sharing.

Because the program does so much there is a learning curve but I believe GIMP still is free.  I've never learned the photo touchup and drawing and painting parts, but cropping, resizing, and so on very straightforward after some exploring.
