Can CA glue be added to any glue or BLO, shellac, or  any wipe on or friction finish?

CA is an adhesive that is sometimes used as a finish.
I second what Don said, what are you trying to do and why would you want to add CA to the other products you mentioned?

Nic, I'm not 100% sure, but my answer to your question would be a great big "NO". As soon as CA. glue comes into contact with any moisture, it hardens or sets however you want to term it. The best way to find out, would be to do a test.If you do one, please let us know the results.

Well, yes and no, mainly no. If you are using it as a finish on say pens, you can apply BLO on the towel and a drop of CA and that works very well. I often do just that. You can build up a less plastic looking finish that way. Other than that, I would say no.

It depends on how you do it and what you are trying to accomplish.

I managed to add it to 3 fingers a couple of days ago. Good thing had some debonder close by. I can't stand the fumes anyway. My hand was supporting a pc. of formica bonding it to the back of miter cut jig to prevent tear out, that worked on the board better than my fingers. I have had 30 years of experience with that stuff and I still have accidents with it. If you use it in situations you are unsure of, do just a little bit and hope for the best. The thin is more dangerous that medium or thick. George Troy
