Of course you could go all the way and get something black and shiny. It starts with a R.

They had one on display in KC at the Symposium this summer.  In talking to the PM folks this is the next in line replacement for the 3520B.  It is not intended to move people like myself that have the 3520B to this one.  More an enhancement to that offering in the market. Once stocks of the "b" are gone I believe this will be the only choice you will not have the b and c. to choose from.

I like most of the upgrades but they are not enough to make me replace my b with it.  Nor is it intended to.

You're right Len
The B's are no longer being stocked and this is the replacement. These things don't tend to be redesigned very often, I think this model will be around for several years as long as it sells well enough. The problem is that with the "improvements" over the B, it will most likely be more expensive and you don't have the option of choosing between the two.

Just curious, does anyone have any more experience with this machine?
I am really wondering "if" the $4,500 price is warranted.

Personally I think all full sized lathes are overpriced.

Noticed a flyer from Craft supply, Price point is at 4500. with a gift card of 450 as I remember right. This was my dream machine. Now as I told my wife, got to find something else.

Like Ralph said above, I have the lathe I want and I see no reason to change.... in fact IF I had to do it all over again, I would still get the lathe I have right now - I could not be happier with it ... wait.. if it came with a built in coffee machine ...  Cheesy Grin
