Finally got to turn again.

Boy, am I rusty. After almost no turning in the last 2 years my skills are  in need of repair.
I consider these turns clunky. But the spalted maple is sort of soft. So in order to keep from having firewood, I made them with a side wall of about .75"

Nic, it had to be nice to get back to the lathe, you'll knock the rust off in no time. You used some nicely spalted wood for these bowls, to bad you're not satisfied with the outcome.

I’m in the same boat and already had a couple design opportunities come up while making gifts  Grin.  Turning is like an instrument.  It’s rough if you don’t practice but you’ll get back into it in no time!

Not all bowls need to be .125 or .250 those came out very nicely indeed.  Someday I will either buy or find a nice piece of spalted maple or a log of it or even spalted Pecan.  Thumbs Up
