Arlin,  I use the tall chimney glasses, that are normally used to serve adult beverages. I get them at the local Good Will type of stores. they are usually between $0.25 and $0.50 each. they are just about 3 inches in diameter. I use a large forstner bit with an extension to make the hole then scrape until the glass just fits the rim and leaves expansion room around the glass. Remember that wood moves so the hole must not be to tight or the wood will split. I finish the inside with a good quality marine varnish. That helps with the wood expansion due to temperature and moisture.
