Hi my name is Colin Parr and i am a retired cabinet maker and teacher of design Technology from Cambridge in the UK. I have been turning for nearly twenty years although i have given turning more time since i retired from teaching. I am willing to have a go at any type of turning  and am currently working on developing texturing, colouring and piercing into my projects. I decided to join this forum because i feei that you guys are still a long ways down the line compared to turners in the uk. I look forward to picking your brains in the future. Kind regards Colin

Congratulations on the new lathe
I hadn't heard of those before but looks like a machine with many capabilities and configurations.

Everyday liberating nice things from ordinary chunks of wood---and I like gnarly wood, the outcome is nearly always better than the start.

Colin, it's great to have you here, you will probably have some interesting ideas and practices to share. I look forward to reading your responses, they may be very interesting and different.
