I notice Grizzly sells a cart mounted filter but it is a bit more than I need.  Could I just take a filter designed to be hung from the ceiling and mount it on a cart? I have seen some people build their own into carts but I have not seen any examples of people just putting one on top of a cart. My shop is 20x20 and I mostly do lathe work.

Wouldn't it be easier and more out of the way to hang it over near the lathe?

Mine is hung in the corner behind the lathe and, boy does it collect dust!!!

A noticable difference in the amount of wood boogers after installing it! Shocked

The dust colector hose helps the major stuff right at the pieceon the lathe but the hanging guy clears the air.

But... back to your question.. I see no reason why it wouldn't work  while sitting on a cart.

give it a try. if it does not work hang it in a out of the way place, but still be able to circulate air.

I think the trial and error thing is the way I will go.  Get one, place it on a wheeled cart, do a couple projects and if it works just keep it that way.  If not, I can hang it.  I noticed that the Supermax unit comes with rubber feet and hanging hooks so that's encouraging.
