This 4" x 9.5" Sapele w/ Lacquer finish vase was all hand carved only power tool was the lathe and a small drill for holes to start the coping saw blade w/ a tape handle.

Very nice Bruce.  You did a great job of the carving and sanding. Your finish is spot on!

Nice work Bruce!  - How did you sand in all those areas?  By hand or did you make / use a tool?

Thank you Tom; Yes by hand, I used folded sand paper and self sticking sand paper wrapped around dowels and Popsicle sticks after carving as smooth as I could w/ my carving knifes, sanding was from 80 grit taken up to 800 grit.

My favorite wood carver Bruce was John Cowden of Gatlinburg but I think your detail work beats his any day. Nice job.
