My question is I have some 2" Sapelle if I glue it I will see the line so I thought I would accentuate it by adding some kind of thin filler a colored ?? plastic or laminate ?? I need it to be at leadst 12" square anybody have any ideas on what I could use to be a filler ?? I was thinking of going with something only about 1/6 th to 1/8TH thick

Hi Chuck, I am sorry to hear about your loss. The passing of a cherished pet can be a hard thing to swallow.

Anther solution to your problem might be to laminate a contrasting veneer between the glue up if you want o accentuate the join as part of the design, or a similar veneer would give a more subtle but intentional look to the finised piece.

I hope this helps during this sad time.

Ralph.

I could tell you where here in the UK but that is not going to help you much. Do you have a bandsaw? You could cut your own. At 1/8 inch thick you could cut it on a TS.

Failing that search online for veneer suppliers. If the veneer is too thin you could laminate that with two the same colour and a contrasting colour in between.

Another radical idea would be to laminate the wood with brass. woodworking tools will cut non-ferrous metals.

Ralph.

Its rare to find veneer that thick anymore, look for a place that sells wood for scroll saws instead.

Chuck,

So sorry to hear about your loss of a family member.  We had a similar thing happen to us about 2 years ago.  It still pains me to think about our lost dog Cry.  Please remember the good times and how much joy you each brought to the other.

Chuck my thoughts and prayers are with you!!
My wife and I have 16 past pets ashes in cedar boxes.
I retire in a few years, I will finish turning urns for all. I have done maybe three so far for the last few  which have passed.
You never get over the passing you  just learn how to live with it!!!!
Be well my friend
