I'm looking for lathes that i can send to a 3rd world country that have no electronics and motors that can be switched for compatible electrical needs. I have a couple of old Deltas, and they are good, but i was wondering if there was a new lathe i could purchase as well. 11-14" X 24-36". Thanks for any info, dave.

Are you looking for manual speed change,  or variable?  The non-electronic mechanical variable speed option is a Reeves Drive, have you checked out the options at Grizzly? I'm not certain about the interchangeability of Motors however.

Based on your description, I think you may be better off hitting up some of the companies that specialize in old cast iron machinery.  Less 'gadgets' to convert and typically robust enough to handle tweaking.  Just a thought...good luck.

Don't go with any Reeve's drive for third world. they break too easily. I know, I have one. Which countries are you looking at? May be able to get correct voltage before shipping.
