I have been looking for sycamore crotch pieces for 5 yrs, it was worth the wait.  The largest is 18 inch diam, smallest about 10. They are very green and very heavy. The tree fell last November in a wind storm on a friend's property. After cutting, he and I had to carry the pieces up the side of a ravine maybe 4-5 stories deep. The colors are amazing, I hope they stay vibrant after drying.

Looks like some very nice blanks.
Were you able to cut any of the other quartersawn?

The quarter sawn will have the best figure/bees wings/medullary ray patterns, so the center of the tree as the bottom makes for the best figure..

Here is the first piece I made from one of the crotch pieces.  The finishing is not complete but I thought i'd show the figure and figure.  It's about 13 inch diameter, 4 inch high

If the tree was blown over and killed last fall, I'm surprised it would still be full of moisture.  Glad it hadn't suffered drying cracks and you are able to use it.
