How hard?

What the most difficult project you've made so far?
Sometimes it's a challenging piece of wood, grain direction, voids or tough on tools. Sometimes it's sanding or finishing. Maybe it's a segmented piece that's difficult to assemble or glue up.
There are lots of ways turning projects can present difficulties for us to overcome.

What's the most difficult piece you've turned so far and were the problems you had to overcome to complete it?

12" pecan natural edge bowl.  The wood  was dry  and soo hard.  Took many hours.  But in the end it was worth it.  Have 4 more blanks,    not ready to turn that wood anytime soon.

This was certainly one of my toughest. It is just about 500 pieces, but the biggest difficulty was because I did it on a Vega bowl lathe. This lathe's ways are only 16" long so I had to make a wooden extension to support the tail stock.
