Thank you very much Jenny; The holes were made by first making arches on the main body of the bowl w/ a drum sander on my drill press, then the top rim was made to a very close size and glued to the body. After that it went back on the lathe for final shaping and flushing. then the half circle rings were hand carved at an angle and hand sanded.
